One thing to remember while you're here. Each of our forums has a basic topic, but they all relate to submarines in some way. If you just wrote a great sub novel, or a needed reference book, probably no one is going to object if you post a simple announcement in the book forum. On the other hand, plugs for your favorite TV series would be off topic, even in the TV and Movie Forum, unless it also happens to have submarines in it.

Don't try to be sneaky, though. If you want to say you wrote a book, make it clear in the topic--something like "I just wrote this book." Mentioning it in your signature is also okay.

No off-topic advertising, though. I go through here daily and obvious off topic posts aren't going to stay around very long. The same goes for strident political rants, racist diatribes, porn ads and other things along those lines.
