Don't know anything truly about this, but at a sale near my home recently I purchased a beautiful Hamilton Chronometer Watch case.

Inside of the big box (apparently it was mounted to a wall) is a smaller box which has a small plaque and taped over the plaque is a peice of paper (looks like a large postage stamp) A handwritten note reads "U.S.S. Haddock #6928 Due in" and then with what appears to have been some type of stamp OCT 25, 1947.

Was wondering if anyone knew anything about this item or would be interested in purchasing it. I want it to go to a home where it can be appreciated for the history it carries. Thanks.
