 Dogs in US subs?
Author: wahoo

I'm french, and I've read during wolrd war 2, the french subs used to have a dog aboard. Why? Cause a dog is small and near tha floor, and if the batteries contamined the air, the dog is the alert signal, it is the first victim.
Did the US subs crew use dogs (or birds, mouses) to determine if the air was contaminated?

Hello from France.
