 torpedo transporter

I am looking for information on the torpedo transporters made by Hanson in Tiffin,Ohio. They have space for two torpedo's and a self-contained boom (lift or hoist - your choice of words here).
Also, what is the actual front of the vehicle - the end with the radiator or the end with the boom? I personally believe the boom end was meant to be the front since the seat faces in that direction. But this would make operation of the vehicle similar to a fork-lift; rear wheel steering/very obstucted forward vision. Any operators out there who can shed light on these?
