Deck Guns--how were the protected during submersion?
Author: Mike (---.rollsys.com)

I have been curious for years as to how submarine deck guns were prepared for diving, and what it took to ready one for firing after surfacing. It seems as if salt water would eat them up pretty quickly, especially small moving parts. Anyone out there know what it took to keep them happy and firing safely in that hostile environment?
Thanks,
Mike
