Maybe a wee bit late, but...:)

I've been doing some research in this area, and, if you discount the misadventures in the ETO/North Atlantic area, all our submarine activity was in the Pacific. Prety close to 250 subs made war patrols in the Pacific..ad in maybe 25 or so for older P-, R-, & S-class boats used for training purposes, and you'l be prety close.
